A very beautiful glazed ceramic wall platter, characteristic of the revival in decorative arts that adorned French interiors of the 1950s and 1960s. Measuring nearly 28 cm in diameter, this piece has a remarkable presence. Its deep blue background, verging on petrol blue in certain lights, features a generous stylized floral composition where large cream daisies, orange-brown flowers, and tender green foliage intermingle. Around the perimeter, a succession of ivory dots forms a graphic border that provides balance to the design and accentuates its decidedly decorative character. The design retains the freedom characteristic of post-war artisanal productions. The flowers do not aim for botanical realism but transform into shapes, colors, and rhythms. This treatment of botanicals fully aligns with the 1950s-1960s taste for more expressive ceramics, intended to be a centerpiece in interior decoration as much as to bear witness to the potter's hand. The craftsmanship also deserves attention. The reverse clearly reveals the potter's wheel marks and the raw clay material, left exposed in the center, while a warm glaze with ochre nuances covers the outer rim. The wide foot ring retains its original hanging mechanism, confirming the piece's intended purpose as a wall decoration from its origin.
