French Modernist Stoneware Vase with Sculptural Ear.
A rare and compelling French Modernist studio vase, likely made in the later part of the 20th century, with a striking architectural presence. This tall, slender form features a sharply angular ear with a pierced hole, echoing Brutalist and abstract sculptural traditions. Handmade in coarse raw stoneware, glazed in a earth-toned glaze.
Signed on the base with three distinct marks: m. France, PL Plzen, and Jajiga — suggesting either a France or the Czech Republic origin.
