The Sarreguemines factory, founded in Moselle in the late 18th century, is one of the largest and most famous French earthenware factories. Its products, renowned for the quality of their enamel and the delicacy of their decorations, graced French tables for two centuries. This large deep dish belongs to the Saverne series, produced in the 1950s-1960s. Its design combines two distinct and complementary elements: at the center, a bouquet of two blooming roses in shades of old rose and deep pink, with finely shaded petals, accompanied by dark green foliage. On the rim, a geometric burgundy frieze alternates solid squares and cross patterns, lending the piece a sober and structured elegance. The immaculate white background showcases the richness of the floral decoration and the precision of the frieze. The backstamp, marked 'Sarreguemines France' with the crowned crest and the decoration name 'Saverne', unambiguously confirms its origin and series. With a diameter of 31 cm, it is a generous and well-proportioned deep dish. It is suitable for both serving and decorative use, displayed on a china cabinet or integrated into a collection of antique earthenware. Very good overall condition, with no visible damage.
