In the 1920s and 1930s, table settings modernized. Large floral patterns gradually gave way to bold colors and simple lines, capable on their own of giving character to tableware. This large oval earthenware dish is a beautiful example. A cream-white well is surrounded by a wide, luminous and fresh seafoam green rim. This composition transforms a piece intended for daily use into a graphic presence fully embodying the Art Deco aesthetic. Measuring approximately 32 cm, it belonged to the kind of family tableware designed to take pride of place at the center of the table. Nearly a century later, its simplicity remains timeless. The seafoam green lends a unique softness. Under the light, the enamel reveals subtle reflections and highlights the generous curve of the rim around the cream-white well. No manufacturer's mark is visible. Attribution remains open, subject to expert appraisal. The earthenware bears traces of its history and use, visible in the photographs. The dish measures approximately 32 cm in length.
