Product description
Large antique flower pots made of crackle earthenware, XL cache pots with red to brown floral decoration with butterflies, marked on the bottom with the maker's mark featuring the letter R in relief and numbered 00s, circa late 19th century, presumably British. The mark on the bottom is reminiscent of the British “Diamond Shaped Registry Mark” used from mid-1842 to 1884 to identify and date earthenware and ceramics; unfortunately, the mark on these pots has been glazed over, rendering it illegible, though the letter R is still recognizable. Rare to find them in an identical pair, characterful flower pots of very large size; the hand-painted decoration is of high quality, painted by a skilled craftsman. Although well over 100 years old, these flower pots remain relevant today; with their timeless design, they still fit into a minimalist, vintage, or modern interior. Both objects are in good but used antique condition; one of the pots has some small chips in the earthenware near the floral decoration. Otherwise, both are in good condition, with signs of age consistent with their age, such as small cracks and spots, but they still look fantastic. Check the photos for more details!
