Product description
Large Scandinavian Kilim rug from the second half of the 20th century (1950-1970), 100% high-quality jute. Entirely hand-woven flat on a traditional loom, this rug combines a timeless colorful graphic aesthetic and remarkable, fully reversible texture work. The selvedges are manually finished with a thick connecting jute thread. The alternation of two weaving patterns from one square to another: sections in traditional flat weave (plain weave) coexist with sections in twisted/twill relief, creating a unique play of volume. The timeless geometric checkerboard pattern integrates perfectly into both a vintage interior (teak furniture, light oak) and a contemporary or bohemian-chic decor. Its autumnal and vibrant shades from vegetable dyeing pigments: brick red, ocher yellow, fir green, and orange have remained beautifully dense and luminous.
