Origin: Japan
Dating: 1960s
Description: A very beautiful table lamp, known as the "ocean liner" lamp, by Mazda. 1960s. This lamp has been largely restored: its metal base has been completely sanded and rust-free, then painted cream-white and protected with a satin varnish; the oblong turned wooden stem has been sanded and revarnished (light oak color); the lampshade has been remade to its original dimensions with polyphane and cream-white silk fabric with subtle patterns, mounted on its original structure and embellished with cream braid and gold thread. The gold metal elements are original and show some signs of age (scratches). The entire electrical system has been preserved and is original. It is switched on by pulling the cord on the side of the socket. Works perfectly with a large screw-in bulb.
