About this seller
ProfessionalProduct description
Area model table lamp, designed by Mario Bellini in 1974 and produced by Artemide, in Italy. It combines a metal structure with a fabric diffuser with sculptural forms. Dimensions: H 75 × W 55 × D 50 cm.
The Area lamp illustrates Bellini's research on diffused light and organic forms. Its soft-contoured diffuser creates a sculptural effect, while its structure asserts an aesthetic typical of 1970s Italian design. This model testifies to the designer's experimental approach, who conceives the luminaire as an object that is both functional and expressive.
