Inspired by a man sitting on a beach with a board stuck in the sand and a rolled-up towel for a headrest, designed by Lindau/Lindekrantz
Planka rotates 360° and has an adjustable headrest.
All that's missing is the beach.
In the early 1960s, Lammhults sought to expand its design identity and invited renowned design partners Lindau & Lindekrantz to collaborate.
In 1965, Lammhults asked Lindau & Lindekrantz to create designs for a chair for public use. Instead of one chair, Lindau and Lindekrantz offered two:
Ritz and Royal.
The chairs marked the beginning of a long and fruitful collaboration that would last for over two decades.
Over the years, Lindau & Lindekrantz created scores of designs for Lammhults. During Lammhults' collaboration with Börge Lindau and Bo Lindekrantz, a number of significant furniture designs were developed.
A collection of Lindau & Lindekrantz designs are still in production, for example, the S70-3 bar stool and the X75-2 armchair.
