Beautiful and rare set of two authentic, hand-blown glass pufferfish ("Pesce Palla") by the prestigious Italian glass producer La Murrina from Murano, Venice.
Both design objects feature the original, hand-engraved signature "la murrina" on the bottom (applied with a diamond pen by the glass master).
This iconic design is known for its brilliant vetro argentato finish: an inner layer of shimmering silver foil combined with the refined bullicante technique (fine air bubbles trapped in the glass).
The fins and tails are made of clear, transparent crystal glass that beautifully refracts the light. Because this is pure craftsmanship, both fish are unique in their shape and character, which makes them extra charming as a pair. They are in excellent vintage condition (no chips or damage) and, due to their weight, are perfect for use as luxurious Decorative Objects or paperweights in a modern, Hollywood Regency or vintage interior.
