Product description
This is a wooden Sculpture by the Zimbabwean artist Emmanuel Chikumbirike. The work shows an expressive face carved directly from a piece of raw wood, a technique characteristic of Shona Sculpture from which the artist originates.
The artwork is made from a single piece of wood, with the artist preserving the natural texture and shape of the material. The dark brown color and the detailed finish of the face contrast with the unprocessed, rough bark of the woodblock. This duality between refined craftsmanship and untouched nature gives the Sculpture its unique character and depth.
The overall condition of the Sculpture is good, with a patina consistent with its age and the nature of the material. The artist's name, Emmanuel Chikumbirike, is engraved on the bottom of the Sculpture, confirming its authenticity. The work is an authentic example of contemporary African art.
