RARE MID-CENTURY MODERN ‘KUALA’ TABLE LAMP – FRANCO BRESCIANI FOR IGUZZINI (1976)
Designed by Franco Bresciani in 1976 and manufactured by iGuzzini in Italy, this striking Kuala table lamp is a rare and highly collectible example of mid-century Italian lighting design.
The lamp features a beautiful interplay of chrome metal and curved acrylic, creating a sleek, futuristic silhouette. Its single E27 screw socket remains in its original configuration, with the original iGuzzini sticker still intact—attesting to its authenticity.
Part of the wider Kuala series, which also included a smaller table lamp and ceiling pendant, this version stands out for its sculptural presence and the warm, ambient light it casts through its acrylic dome. The chrome base is bright and well-preserved, and the lamp includes its original in-line on/off switch.
A timeless and elegant statement piece—a true gem for collectors of Italian mid-century modern design.
In very good vintage condition, the lamp shows only minor signs of age: a few faint scratches on the base and a small imperfection in the roundness of the acrylic shade. These do not detract from its aesthetic or function.
