Product description
Unique post-war abstract oil painting by R. Brinkman from 1967 Are you looking for an authentic, characterful eye-catcher for your interior? This compact but extremely dynamic oil painting breathes the atmosphere of the 1960s and fits perfectly with a Mid-Century modern or eclectic design interior. Style & Technique: The work is created in the style of Lyrical Abstraction / Abstract Expressionism, which is deeply influenced by the iconic post-war Cobra movement. The artist worked with a thick impasto technique (with a palette knife or coarse brushstrokes), creating a beautiful, tangible relief of paint on the canvas. The composition bursts with energy and combines deep, dark tones with bright, vibrant color accents. Authenticity & Condition: The painting is hand-signed and dated R. Brinkman '67 in the lower left. The side reveals the object's beautiful age: the canvas is still firmly and completely originally attached to the wooden stretcher frame with the authentic, old convex tacks. The work is in good, undamaged vintage condition. Specifications: • Artist: R. Brinkman • Year: 1967 • Medium: Oil on canvas • Style: Abstract Expressionism / Lyrical Abstraction / Post-war modernism • Dimensions: approx. 24.5 x 30.5 cm • Condition: Good vintage condition, original frame and stretching A beautiful, handy size that, despite its thick structure and use of color, immediately draws attention. The work can be carefully packaged and shipped via Whoppah's shipping service, or picked up.
