Product description
This set of two armchairs was manufactured by the renowned Dutch furniture maker Schuitema. The design is a classic example of the Art Nouveau movement, where traditional woodworking and elegant lines come together in a timeless silhouette. The chairs are made of solid wood with a warm, brown finish that accentuates the natural grain of the material. Characteristic of the construction are the visible wood joints and the refined, twisted details under the armrests. The backrest features vertical slats and a slightly curved top edge for optimal seating comfort. The seats are upholstered with a multi-colored, woven textile fabric with a subtle pattern that perfectly matches the early twentieth-century aesthetic. The set is in good condition, appropriate for its age and previous use. The woodwork has developed an authentic patina that contributes to the historical character of the furniture. The structural integrity has been fully preserved. These characteristic chairs come into their own in a classic or eclectic interior. They function beautifully on either side of a fireplace or as striking accent chairs in a spacious study.
