Product description
Estimated value: €900 – €1,200 This kneeling bronze Buddha is depicted in Anjali mudra, the prayer posture where the hands are brought together as a sign of reverence and devotion. The statue has a modest and serene appearance, with restrained proportions and a calm facial expression, fitting for traditional temple use. The statue is traditionally cast in bronze and has an open base, characteristic of older Southeast Asian temple statues. The surface shows a natural, dark patina with light wear on prominent areas, resulting from long-term ritual use. There are no visible traces of modern treatment or restoration. The style, posture, and finish suggest an origin from Burma (Myanmar) and a dating to the 18th to 19th century. Dimensions approx. 21.7 × 9 cm, weight approx. 2 kg.
