About this seller
Private sellerProduct description
This double pedestal desk is a characteristic example of furniture design from the 1930s, crafted from oak wood. The design bears the hallmarks of both Art Deco and the Amsterdam School, visible in its solid, geometric forms and decorative details.
The desk is entirely made of oak wood and offers significant storage space with two drawer units and a central drawer, totaling nine drawers. A striking detail is the carved edge along the front of the desktop. The original metal fittings have a dark patina that contrasts with the lighter wood.
The overall condition of the furniture is good, with a patina that is the result of decades of use and reflects the age of the piece. The construction is sturdy and all drawers function properly, making it a durable and practical piece of furniture.
With its imposing presence and historical appeal, this desk is a statement piece for a home office or study. It fits perfectly into a classic, eclectic, or Art Deco-inspired interior.
