Kintsugi Samurai
The first figure in a new series—seven warriors, each in a different color, each with their own story.
These samurai not only wear steel armor, but also the invisible scars of life. They are fighters, fathers, sons, partners—people with heart, responsibility, and pain. Strength and fragility, courage and compassion, merge in them.
Like kintsugi, the art of healing brokenness with gold, their wounds are not hidden but honored. Every scar tells of overcoming. Every break becomes a sign of growth.
Rotan Hunt—a self-taught artist—is dedicated to one mission: to breathe new life into wood and other materials. His passion began early, deepened in a renowned carpentry workshop, and developed into true craftsmanship.
But Hunt never settled on the traditional. He combines wood with stone, glass, resin, metal, and acrylic paints, creating works that are simultaneously raw, powerful, and full of expression. He refined his acrylic painting skills through the teachings of an artist at the Düsseldorf Art Academy—an experience that lends his work additional depth and intensity.
His mentor, the French artist Benoît Averly, also had a formative influence; he showed him how wooden sculptures can convey not only form but also emotion.
Today, Rotan Hunt transforms his home into a vibrant gallery: a place where visitors can experience the energy of his works firsthand. Each work speaks of a joy of experimentation, of the search for balance between nature and modernity—and of the urge to transform the everyday into something extraordinary.
For true fighting spirit is not born from remaining intact, but from rising from every defeat.
There is no giving up—only the reminder that beauty lies in imperfection and that the soul of a warrior fights on with every heartbeat.
