Kintsugi Porcelain Samurai Rainbow Demon
After many years of darkness, the samurai awoke again – but this time differently.
His body, once made of cool porcelain, was now crisscrossed with golden cracks, filled with the colors of life.
Red, blue, green, yellow – every line spoke of a battle, every hue of a feeling he once thought lost.
Once he wore armor to protect himself. Today he wears it to remember.
For in the smooth surface of his breastplate are reflected the faces of his opponents – not humans, but demons of anger, envy, and fear.
He sees them, recognizes them – and remains calm.
For he knows: these demons live not outside of us, but within each of us.
The flowers on his skin continue to grow, shining brighter than ever.
They are not ornaments, but roots that bind him to life – to all its colors, shadows, and fractures.
The Samurai of Colors is no longer a warrior of blood, but a guardian of balance.
He fights not to win, but to remember that beauty arises from diversity – and strength from the cracks that shape us.
Rotan Hunt – a self-taught artist from the picturesque Taunus region in Hesse – is dedicated to a mission: to breathe new life into wood and other materials. His passion began early, deepened in a renowned carpentry workshop in Austria, and developed into true craftsmanship.
But Hunt never stopped at the traditional. He combines wood with stone, glass, resin, metal, and acrylic paints – creating works that are simultaneously raw, powerful, and full of expression. He refined his skills in acrylic painting through the teachings of an artist at the Düsseldorf Art Academy – an experience that lends his work additional depth and intensity.
His mentor, the French artist Benoît Averly, also had a formative influence, showing him how wooden sculptures can convey not only form but also emotion.
Today, Rotan Hunt transforms his home into a vibrant gallery: a place where visitors can experience the energy of his works firsthand. Each work speaks of a joy of experimentation, a search for balance between nature and modernity—and the urge to transform the everyday into something extraordinary.
