Kees van de Wal – "Up Towards the Light" – Large Abstract Work in Black Box Frame. A beautiful, original, and hand-signed artwork by the renowned Dutch artist Kees van de Wal, titled "Up Towards the Light." It is a powerful, abstract-expressive composition in acrylic on panel (wood). The work is professionally framed in a sleek, modern black wooden box frame. Distinctive feature: Kees van de Wal often applies his acrylic paint very thickly, impasto-like, and in layers (the so-called impasto technique). Because the paint is so thick, he deliberately creates relief, ripples, and textures in the artwork. This is precisely what gives the painting that rugged, lively depth when light falls on it from the side. It is therefore not damage or moisture, but rather pure texture that is characteristic of his abstract-expressive style! Authenticity: On the back, there is still the original gallery/studio label from the guilder era stating the official title "Up Towards the Light" and the value of F 750 at the time.
