Product description
A colorful screen print in new condition by the artist Kees Salentijn. Hand-signed and numbered. The work is in perfect condition. Kees Salentijn (Amsterdam 1947) was educated at the Amsterdamse Rijksacademie van beeldende kunsten and the Gerrit Rietveld Academie. He lives and works in Amsterdam. Salentijn's first works are classified under his ‘Spaanse periode’ and characterized by bullfights – which represent Salentijn's emotional life – depicted in mixed media. In his ‘zwarte periode’, in the mid-1980s, the struggle Salentijn feels when creating each painting is central. In 1986, Salentijn developed a style of painting that he himself calls Mediterranseïsme. The visual language of this art, characterized by a dominance of the sun and colors, stems from music and nostalgic feelings. The convergence of figuration and abstraction shifted from 1990 onwards to a more expressive, narrative figuration. Please note: The numbering may differ from the photo due to multiple copies. Framing the work? Galerie Rotor can offer you every option.
