About this seller
Private sellerProduct description
This is a modern-impressionist seascape, created in 1997 by the Ostend artist Kathleen Storme. The work is characterized by an expressive and pasty technique, where the paint is applied thickly to capture the dynamism of the sea and sky.
The painting is executed on canvas with dimensions of 20 x 30 cm. The artist used a palette knife to apply the thick layers of paint, known as the impasto technique. This creates a tangible texture and depth in the landscape. The color palette consists of various shades of green, white, gray, and blue, which together evoke an atmospheric and lively image of the coast. On the reverse, the work is signed and dated '02-01-97'.
Due to its compact size, this painting is a subtle yet distinctive addition to various interiors. It can serve as a focal point in a smaller space or as part of a larger art collection, where it brings a sense of the Belgian coast and artistic dialogue.
