This is the Mobil storage trolley, an iconic piece of modern furniture from the Italian manufacturer Kartell. Designed in 1994 by Antonio Citterio with Glen Oliver Löw, the Mobil system was immediately recognized for its innovation, winning the prestigious Compasso d'Oro award in the same year. Its design combines functional versatility with a distinct aesthetic that has made it a staple in design-conscious homes and offices. The trolley features a chromed steel frame that provides a rigid and reflective structure, contrasting with the translucent plastic components. This particular model is configured with three drawers and a top shelf, all rendered in a vibrant lime green PMMA plastic. The unit is set on four wheels, making it a highly mobile and adaptable piece of furniture, easily moved to where it is needed most. The combination of industrial chrome and playful, colorful plastic is a hallmark of late 20th-century Italian design.
The unit is in acceptable condition, with some signs of wear and minor damage resulting from use, as visible in the attached images. The structure remains solid, and the components retain their original colour. The castors turn and function properly, although they are slightly misaligned.
