This original Kartell componibili is about 12 years old but has rarely been used. She has unfortunately been poorly stored so user marks are present. Nevertheless, she is still in good condition. She can certainly serve for quite a while and make someone happy. Entirely in the spirit of Anna Castelli and Kartell.
In 1968, Anna Castelli Ferreri, wife of Kartell's founder, designed the famous Componibili. This molded plastic cylinder, with its sober and functional lines, symbolizes the break that occurred in design in the 1960s. Bold, practical, modular: this small piece of furniture fully met the needs of a new society that was emerging.
The Componibili would quickly grow and experience success thanks to its extreme functionality. The compact and versatile piece of furniture fits into any room of the house and has different functions. On the floor or on a piece of furniture, as a bedside table in the bedroom, side table in the living room, small storage space in the bathroom or kitchen, stool if needed....
The Componibili has proven to be a true design classic over the past decades. Awarded numerous prizes, it is exhibited at the Museum of Modern Art in New York and at the Centre Pompidou in Paris.
Kartell continues its technological research and innovation to introduce new and more environmentally friendly materials. These include 100% recycled thermoplastic polymer, derived from industrial waste. With this material, Kartell is treading a new path in ecological sustainability. More and more recycled materials are being used so as to rid the environment of waste. Waste that in turn becomes a raw material.Scratches on top, 1 scratch on one door and some scratches on the sides. Not from use but because the componibili has been poorly stored (see photos).
