Karin Sommen graduated from the Utrecht School of the Arts in 1994 and completed the higher degree in painting at the art academy in Hoogstraten (B) in 2017 as a laureate. As a visual artist, Karin creates work that, like herself, is constantly in motion: searching, traveling, on the road. In recent years this has resulted in various paintings and painting series.
Since 2015, Karin has regularly exhibited at home and abroad, such as in the Stedelijk Museum van Hoogstraten, Belgium (2017), MAF gallery in Meerle, Belgium (2018) and various public buildings in the Netherlands (2015 - 2023).
