About this seller
Private sellerProduct description
The project "onderweg 2.0" consists of a series of paintings that can be viewed separately or as a series and are part of a painting animation ( https://www.karinsommen.nl/onderweg-2-0-animation )
"The surprise of being on the road and seeing everything around you change. Of moving forward without a final destination. When on the road, the journey is more important than the destination. The road never stands still - even if you stand still."
Karin Sommen graduated from the Utrecht School of the Arts in 1994 and completed the higher degree in painting at the art academy in Hoogstraten (B) in 2017 as a laureate. As a visual artist, Karin creates work that, like herself, is constantly in motion: searching, traveling, on the road. In recent years this has resulted in various paintings and painting series.
Since 2015, Karin has regularly exhibited at home and abroad, such as in the Stedelijk Museum van Hoogstraten, Belgium (2017), MAF gallery in Meerle, Belgium (2018) and various public buildings in the Netherlands (2015 - 2023).
