Good condition, patinated leather, wear on the seat edge
A single-piece molded shell, white lacquered, closed into an enveloping backrest and placed on a conical base. Inside, black tufted leather cushions, held by buttons. The ottoman features the same base and tufting.
Michel Cadestin, born in 1942, designed the Karaté for Airborne in the early 1970s. The Landes-based publisher, which also produced Olivier Mourgue's Djinn at the time, here combines a molded plastic shell with tufted leather upholstery — two styles that French furniture of those years usually kept separate.
This set brings together the armchair and its ottoman, often separated. The leather has developed its patina, and the wear on the seat edge is visible in the close-up views.
