Product description
This pair of Kalmar wall sconces from the 1970s exemplifies the bold, sculptural lighting design of the era. The fixtures feature a striking combination of textured glass and a polished metal backplate, creating a compelling interplay of light and material. Constructed with thick, frosted glass shades that mimic the organic forms of ice or water, the sconces are mounted on brass-finished metal bases. The textured glass diffuses the light softly, while the reflective backplate enhances the illumination, adding depth and warmth to the emitted glow. The design is characteristic of Kalmar's commitment to high-quality materials and distinctive, modernist forms during the mid-century period. The sconces remain in good vintage condition, retaining their original character and structural integrity. The glass shades are intact, and the metal components display a natural patina consistent with age and use, contributing to their authentic vintage appeal. These Kalmar sconces are well-suited for a variety of interior settings, from Mid-Century Modern to Hollywood Regency styles. They serve as elegant focal points in a hallway, living room, or bedroom, providing both functional lighting and a sculptural presence.
