Gebr. Kaiser & Co. Leuchten KG, Lichttechniek Spezialfabrik, Neheim-Hüsten was founded in 1895 by Hermann Kaiser. Initially, the company produced parts for the existing lighting factories. In the period between the two world wars, the company developed into one of the largest lighting manufacturers in the region. Not least thanks to the famous lamps designed by Christian Dell, then leader of the metal workshop at the Bauhaus in Weimar. In the post-war years, modern designers were attracted, such as Klaus Hempel, who won a number of awards for his progressive lighting ideas. Towards the end of the 1970s, the company was taken over by Thorn Lighting Group.
