Iconic Mid-Century Modern floating-top teak executive desk designed by Kai Kristiansen and produced by Feldballes Møbelfabrik in Denmark (1958).
A true centerpiece of Danish modern design, this freestanding desk features Kristiansen’s signature sculptured teak "eyelid" drawer pulls, two front three-drawer pedestals, and an impressive rear layout with built-in side cabinets flanking an open bookcase display shelf. The desk sits on tapered solid teak legs and offers a warm, stunning wood grain throughout the top and frame.
Condition Details:
This desk is in good vintage structural condition with a rich, well-maintained patina and vibrant wood grain. To offer complete transparency, it has a few minor points of attention suited for restoration or light TLC:
Drawer Handles: Some damage to a few of the carved teak handles (see close-up photos).
Hardware & Keys: The original key for the top lockable drawers and rear cabinets is missing, as are the screws connecting the floating desktop to the base frame. (Standard replacement hardware can easily be fitted).
Wood Finish: Overall very clean vintage state with minor signs of age-appropriate wear.
A fantastic project piece for collectors, vintage design lovers, or interior stylists looking for an authentic 1950s Scandinavian icon.
