Product description
Juul Kortekaas trained at the Royal Academy of Art and Design in 's-Hertogenbosch from 1968-1973. She graduated in plastic design and also in graphics. For years she sculpted: plastic female figures in stone, but in time this no longer satisfied her. In the 1970s, Juul Kortekaas took classes in garden and landscape architecture in Wageningen. She also began writing stories and poems. In 1984, Juul settled in Middelburg. Her work is very diverse: small bronzes, sculptures in stone, works in iron and in lead (such as the 'tulip blocks', with which she gained fame). She also makes paintings, including of tulips ("The tulip with its fascinating history has stolen a piece of my heart."). This beautiful original work was created using stencils and a splash technique. The artwork is hand signed by the artist and was made in 1991. The work is in good condition and can be hung on the wall. Very nice in a vintage interior! Make your own wall mosaic (see last picture) and mix vintage artwork with posters, photos and contemporary artists. This way you playfully put together your own inspiration wall in your living room or office. In our extensive collection there are not only contemporary artists but also many historical prints with which you can create a cool wall mosaic in no time. Check out our other items from Galerie Rotor at Whoppah or call us for advice. Would you like to have the work framed? We at Galerie Rotor in Gorinchem can do all kinds of framing for you. You can pick up the work at the gallery or have it shipped by courier.
