Original Textile Artwork by V. Ninua
An original, one-of-a-kind artwork created using V. Ninua’s self-developed textile technique.
The work is created on canvas using jute cord, wool, cotton and other textile fibres. Rather than simply painting the image, the composition is gradually constructed by hand: the threads and cords are shaped, braided, arranged and carefully attached to the canvas layer by layer.
Different ways of working with the fibres create variations in structure, depth and texture. The result is a highly tactile, relief-like surface that gives the artwork an almost sculptural character and changes subtly depending on the light and viewing angle.
The work depicts a woman pouring a drink, interpreted through colour, texture and textile structure. Every element is individually made and positioned by hand, making the artwork completely unique.
