Biography:
Jürgen Angeler studied communication and media design, which laid the foundation for his artistic career. He began painting in 2014 and participated in his first exhibitions. His first solo exhibition followed in 2015. Since then, he has continuously developed his technique.
Several exhibitions and workshops have followed. Jürgen Angeler focuses particularly on Informal Painting, a form of modern art that emerged in the 1940s and 50s. The interplay of arbitrariness (impulse) and chance (drip painting, squeegee application) plays a crucial role in this process. The end result is a finished painting that expresses the tension built up during the creative process.
Jürgen Angeler has had successful exhibitions in Germany, Italy, and Austria. His paintings are held in collections in several European countries, the USA, Hong Kong, and Japan.
Selected Exhibitions:
Participation with two paintings at "cosmo GRAFIE" in Rome, Italy. Curated by Eva Czerkl
Participation in the Elledorado Art Charity at the Schwules Museum (Gay Museum), Berlin (Patron: Claudia Roth, Vice President of the German Bundestag)
Solo exhibition "Made in Germany," at the Kulturei Mainz (Citadel), Germany
