The painter Michnia (1942) is a discovery. Josef Jan Michnia was born in Silesia in 1942 (Poland from 1945) and emigrated with his family to Germany in 1988. He has been painting since he was 6 years old and has developed a unique and recognizable style, also described as expressive realism. He is fascinated by the power of color and the interaction between colours. The female figure is almost always central to his work. With disproportionate hands, arms, legs and necks. With a sensual-looking life force. His favorite subjects include women and angels playing music.
