This adjustable double-shade floor lamp is attributed to Czech designer Josef Hurka, dating from the 1960s. It is a striking example of Czechoslovak mid-century lighting design, characterized by its bold orange lacquered shades, chrome-plated stem, and industrial functionality. Each of the two conical shades rotates a full 360 degrees and slides freely along the central pole, allowing the light to be aimed and positioned independently at different heights. This piece works well as a reading lamp beside a sofa or armchair, or as an accent light in a living room corner.Condition and CharacterOriginal condition with signs of use. The orange lacquer shows scattered scratches and light surface wear consistent with age, most visible on the round base and along the stem. One of the two lamp switches was replaced by a previous owner, as the original had become stuck; both switches are functional. The lamp uses two European plugs and is fully working.
