Acryl/hout op paneel
45 years’ work as a sculptor and painter. Lately he moved his studio from Greece back to Breda and the lively Art scéne in The Netherlands.
His subjects are simple, mathematical architectonical shapes give space for expressive colourfields. Verwiel`s technique however, is a complex one. Collage techniques result in multilayered structures in which he, like an archaeologist, buries and assimilates forms in his paint, as vestiges of present-day civilization.
