About this seller
Private sellerProduct description
The Satellite is a well-known furniture line by Swedish designer and manufacturer Jonas Ihreborn, featuring coffee tables and sofas, designed in the 2000s. We are only offering the sofa, which needs some attention and a second life.
It is a beautiful stand-alone sofa, with an attractive back due to its lines. It is a sleek, straight 3-seater sofa on a chrome frame. On the sides are 2 removable ottomans. The inside of the ottomans is made of walnut plywood, pressed into a single round U-shape that folds around the sofa.
The presumed fabric is Kvadrat Hallingdal 65 color 0130 (70% wool 30% viscose), a very beautiful soft blue-grey. The ottomans are suitable for use as footrests, but not for sitting on, as this would put too much strain on the wood.
Dimensions: 245 cm wide (incl. ottomans), 94 cm deep, 75 cm high
We have used the sofa with much love but are now in a different/new phase.
Project: refurbishment / re-upholstery
The fabric is worn, the sofa needs to be re-upholstered.
The seat/suspension of the sofa is still good. The "foam" of the ottomans has become thinner over the years, as you can see in the photos. Where it was "in" the sofa, it still has its original thickness, and you can clearly see the original fabric.
The walnut wood of the ottomans is still intact, but there are some small scuff marks from moving them on and off the sofa. A little sanding and lacquering/oiling should be sufficient, I think.
