About this seller
Private sellerProduct description
This is an authentic Floor light by Jielde, designed by Jean-Louis Domecq in France around 1950. The piece is an icon of industrial design, known for its robustness and modular functionality. This specific model with four articulated arms offers exceptional flexibility and an imposing silhouette.
The lamp is made of metal with a characteristic green lacquer. The four arms are connected by the distinctive Jielde hinges, a revolutionary design without internal wiring that prevents wear. The lamp stands on a heavy, decorative cast iron base marked with 'Charlionas Toulouse', 'Depose' and 'Fourailly Lyon', which adds a unique historical dimension to the whole. The shade features the original blue Jielde label.
The overall condition is good, with a clear patina that testifies to its age and industrial past. The visible signs of use, such as scratches and wear on the lacquer, contribute to the authentic character of the lamp. The lamp is functional and retains its structural integrity.
This Jielde Floor light is a striking object that fits perfectly as a reading lamp next to an armchair or sofa. It is a statement piece that comes into its own in an industrial, vintage or eclectic interior.
