An icon of radical Italian design from the 1970s: the modular "Jeep" bookcase, produced by BBB Italia (Bonacina). Designed by the celebrated trio De Pas, D'Urbino, and Lomazzi, this bookcase embodies the Pop spirit of the era. It is presented here in the rare 90 cm wide version, more spacious and difficult to find than the standard size.
The bookcase is made of classic glossy ABS that has undergone a conservative restoration, primarily to restore the shine and depth of the black finish. It has been meticulously cleaned and carefully polished by hand. Professional treatment with microcrystalline waxes has restored the ABS's deep, mirror-like shine, enhancing the "wet look" reflection typical of the space-age design of the time.
An original vintage item with over 50 years of history. It shows signs of aging, including a few scratches that are obviously natural due to its history; to eliminate them, a complete repainting would be necessary. One of the units has a small crack on the side base and a stain (shown in the photo). These are minor, purely cosmetic damages that do not compromise the stability of the structure. The detailed photos are an integral part of the description.
This Jeep bookcase, ready for display, is a piece of Italian design history that adds character and value to any modern or mid-century interior.
Professional, reinforced packaging is guaranteed: each unit will be individually protected to preserve the glossy finish. Tracked and insured shipping. Free in-person pickup available.
