Elegant vintage table lamp by French designer Jean-Claude Mahey, dating from the 1970s. A striking example of Mahey’s luxurious design language, combining a clean architectural form with an ivory/cream lacquered body and a layered metallic base with brass and chrome-toned finishes. The large sculptural fabric shade creates a beautiful contrast with the geometric base and gives the lamp a warm, sophisticated presence when illuminated. The lamp is clearly marked, featuring a Jean-Claude Mahey signature plaque on the front as well as the original MAHEY label underneath, both shown in the photographs. Designer: Jean-Claude Mahey Manufacturer/Marking: MAHEY Country: France Period: 1970s Colour: Ivory / Cream / Gold / Chrome Materials: Lacquered body, metal and fabric shade Markings: Signature plaque and original MAHEY label The lamp is in authentic vintage condition with signs of age and use. The fabric shade shows some age-related discolouration and marks, while the metallic surfaces have developed light patina and signs of use. Please refer carefully to the photographs for the condition. A beautiful and collectible piece of 1970s French design, particularly suitable for interiors inspired by Hollywood Regency, Mid-Century Modern and sophisticated European vintage design.
