About this seller
Private sellerProduct description
Art glass vase by Kumela, designed by Kaj Blomqvist (signed). Kumela glassworks was a small Finnish glass manufacturer founded in 1933 in the city of Riihimäki. Measurements: 21 cm height x 10 cm base
Brutalist design: The irregular, almost rocky texture of the piece is typical of the brutalist style in glass, popular in the 60s and 70s.
Color transition: It features a color gradation, from a deep blue hue at the top to almost colorless at the base, a very characteristic detail of Kumela pieces.
Origin: Made in Finland, which makes it a piece of mid-century Scandinavian design. (year 1968, in the signature)
Glass vase with ice texture. It features an intense blue color at the top that fades to transparent at the base, with a rough surface that simulates ice.
