Product description
This Japanese Tansu chest of drawers, produced circa 1870, exemplifies the functional elegance of traditional Asian cabinetry. The piece is defined by its robust construction and the striking natural grain of the wood, which serves as the primary decorative element.
Crafted from wood with a rich brown finish, the chest features four spacious drawers equipped with iron hardware. The metal accents, including the drawer pulls and corner reinforcements, are characteristic of the Tansu style, designed for durability and mobility. The piece originates from Japan, reflecting the craftsmanship of the late 19th century.
The chest remains in good condition, preserving its structural integrity and historical character. The wood displays a natural patina, and the iron hardware shows signs of age that are consistent with its era, adding to its authenticity.
This Tansu chest serves as a versatile storage solution that complements both traditional and eclectic interiors. Its timeless design and historical significance make it a compelling addition to a bedroom, living area, or hallway.
