Product description
This Japanese porcelain sake platter brings together two traditions of Japanese decoration. The pearly white background, framed by a bronze-brown rim, features four light blue enameled raised motifs arranged in a rosette pattern. Between them are hand-painted blue and pink dots, and gray arabesques that flow freely over the surface, light and precise. On the reverse side, the rectangular stamp with the kanji 日本 (Nihon) identifies it as a Japanese export production from the 1950s-1970s. This type of marking accompanied pieces intended for Western markets, often more refined than standard production. Diameter approximately 18-19 cm. Very good condition, without cracks or chips. To display on a shelf, for a curiosity cabinet, or to use as part of a complete sake set.
