Product description
Color lithograph by Jan Sierhuis titled 'Tree Animal' from the year 1985. Numbered 45/100 in pencil (lower left) and signed lower right. Jan Sierhuis was born in 1928 and died in 2023 in Amsterdam. He received his education intermittently from 1946–1956 at the Rijksacademie van Beeldende Kunsten, Amsterdam, and from 1957–58 at the Higher Institute of the Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp (BE). He was an expressionist painter who found inspiration in the many long-distance travels he undertook and was also influenced by painters such as Van Gogh, Cézanne, Picasso, and their contemporaries. From the late 1950s onwards, his work was exhibited in countless museums and within the international gallery circuit. He attracted a large following of collectors, and his works were included in museum collections as well as many private and corporate collections.
