Artist: Jan Poortenaar Title: Windmill Landscape Technique: etching on paper Period: ca. 1930–1950 Description Atmospheric etching by the Dutch graphic artist Jan Poortenaar featuring a characteristic Dutch landscape in which a windmill takes center stage. Low vegetation and a path are visible in the foreground, while buildings and the open landscape are depicted in the background. The composition shows a typical Dutch polder landscape with a monumental windmill as a focal point. The etching is executed in a lively and detailed line drawing characteristic of Poortenaar's graphic work. Below the image is the designation “Map no. 69 – II”, which likely refers to a sheet from a graphic series. The work is signed in pencil by the artist in the lower right corner.
