In the foreground, a winding path runs alongside a waterway, while on the left, a row of small trees gives rhythm to the landscape. In the distance, a village silhouette with a church tower appears. The composition emphasizes the openness of the Dutch landscape with a low horizon and a wide sky. The etching is executed in a refined and lively line drawing characteristic of Poortenaar's work.
