Product description
This is an original heliogravure by the Dutch artist Jan Mankes, titled 'Douwe Standing to the Left'. Created in 1923, the work displays the characteristic understated and detailed style that has made Mankes a respected name in Dutch art history. The heliogravure is signed in the lower right corner and is presented in a classic frame. The image itself measures 19 centimeters in height and 11.5 centimeters in width, while the outer dimensions of the frame are 30 by 22 centimeters. The use of this graphic technique results in soft, tonal transitions that enhance the atmosphere of the portrait. The artwork is in good condition commensurate with its age. The frame provides a fitting setting that respects the historical value of the work. This understated portrait comes into its own perfectly in a classic or eclectic interior. It forms a subtle yet striking accent in a study, hallway, or as part of a broader art collection on a gallery wall.
