A unique and very rare set of chic cowhide desk/table lamps from the 1960s.
Originally designed by Jacques Adnet (1900-1984), an icon of luxurious French modernism and one of the first designers to integrate leather, metal and glass into a variety of designer furniture.
The lamps are made from thick, natural cowhide of the highest quality, with no imperfections or insect bites.
Beautifully and skilfully contrasted saddle-stitched.
The base is also made entirely of leather and has 4 brass feet.
This extremely rare and valuable set of lamps, from a luxurious country house, is in a very fine state of preservation.
The brass has acquired a refined patina over time.
The matching luxury shades of a more recent date are in very good condition.
These authentic, timeless, one-of-a-kind desk lamps fit perfectly into larger, more luxurious interiors, in both professional and private environments.
