Product description
A vintage set of three Italian lounge chairs in black leather and polished chrome-plated tubular steel, produced in Italy during the 1980s. With their low profile, deeply padded upholstery and sculptural rounded forms, these Italian modernist lounge chairs have a strong 1970s presence and can be placed individually or arranged together to create a striking sofa-style composition.

Each chair is built around two generous upholstered volumes, with a broad low seat and rounded backrest drawn inward through gathered leather. The natural folds and pleating give the upholstery a soft, sculptural rhythm, while the exposed chrome framework adds a lighter architectural contrast. The three matching chairs form a particularly strong visual composition when positioned side by side, while each remains a complete standalone lounge chair.
The combination of deeply padded leather, low proportions and exposed chromed tubular steel is closely associated with Italian lounge furniture of the 1970s. During this period, Italian designers increasingly explored softer, more enveloping forms in contrast to the stricter geometry of earlier modernism.
Condition
Good vintage condition with signs of age and use consistent with its period. The black leather shows a natural patina with creasing, surface scratches, rubbing and areas of craquelure and dryness, particularly across the seat surfaces and some of the rounded outer areas. More pronounced surface cracking is visible in several places, as shown clearly in the detailed photographs. The upholstery retains its full sculptural shape well. The chrome frames remain bright overall with light scratches and age-related surface wear.
