There are objects that command attention effortlessly. This polychrome biscuit ceramic chef statue is one of them. Standing approximately 64 cm tall, it fills the space with a smiling authority, that of a man who knows what he's doing and does it well. Biscuit ceramic, an unglazed mineral material with a slightly powdery surface, lends a depth to the polychromy that resin cannot achieve. The ocher yellow of the double-breasted jacket, the white of the tall toque and tied apron, the brick red of the square base and scarf, the black of the shoes. Every detail is meticulously sculpted. The raised thumb of the right hand signifies the satisfaction of the accomplished chef. This type of piece, produced in Southern Europe and Southeast Asia from the 1960s-1970s onwards, was intended to adorn restaurants, bistros, grocery store windows, and professional kitchens. A strong, immediately recognizable presence that brings a smile. Placed at the entrance of a kitchen, in a tastefully decorated bistro, or in an interior that appreciates statement pieces, it won't go unnoticed. Height approximately 64 cm.
