Product description
Large slipware Plant pot from the Onnaing earthenware factory, antique "Citrouille" model, late 19th century, circa 1880-1900. Naturalistic relief decoration depicting a pumpkin, surrounded by large cucurbit leaves, pink flowers and intertwined branches forming the handles and the openwork base. The interior is covered with a beautiful turquoise enamel contrasting with the green, pink and ochre tones of the exterior decoration. A particularly decorative model, representative of Onnaing's naturalistic productions from the late 19th century.
Height 22.5cm, max diameter 21cm, max width with handles 25 to 26 cm, min inner diameter 15.5cm. Good general condition considering its age. Presence of fine and homogeneous crazing of the enamel, inside and out, consistent with the age of the piece. There are three chips on the rim, measuring 3cm, 2.8cm and 1cm respectively, relatively discreet in presentation, slight enamel wear on the base, and a small star-shaped impact inside at the bottom, penetrating but discreet and not weakening. Harmonious ensemble with a very beautiful decorative presence. Approximately 1,500-2 kg.
